UST Mamiya Attas Shaft Review

UST Attas ShaftOverview/Technology-

UST released a first-generation Attas shaft that should accommodate the majority of golfers.  The Attas has ultra tight tolerances that are achieved through the use of low resin prepreg in the precision controlled one-off production process.

UST wanted a shaft that they could release to the common, every day golfer looking for exceptional feel, responsive tip, with a mid to high launch. The constant taper design offers improves energy release which increases ball speed and distance. Increase ball speed = Increased distance.

Actual Player Feedback-

“The longest and straightest. Period!”

Summary-

The UST Mamaiya Attas shaft is or was played by the following PGA players: Justin Leonard, Hunter Mahan, Stewart Cink, Carl Petterson, Scott Verplank and Simon Dyson.  Needless to say, if the shaft got the attention of at least six top players in the world, it should be on your short list to try out to see if it fits your swing and game.  Please note, that the tour version have a much stiffer tip with 90 gram versions.  Of course This of course is the first generation Attas, subsequent releases will be reviewed very soon, so stay tuned for that.

UST AXIVCore Driver Shaft Review

Overview-

The UST AXIVCore is a one of a kind carbon-fiber weave shaft providing the golfer a “lighter feel” with an energy transfer that promotes a faster club head speed.  The energy transfer is created through a maximizing hoop strength in the carbon fibers.

Technology-

How does AXIVCore Technology work?

“By strategically placing AXIV material within the shaft, our designers can influence torque, flex, trajectory, and feel. For example, the new Proforce AXIVCore shaft has AXIV material in the butt section to help reduce ovalization of the shaft throughout the swing, which improves consistency and control and improves the overall feel of the shaft.”

Player Feedback-

“I had this shaft installed installed in TM Burner really smooth, solid feel without being boardy. Picked up 20-25 yds of carry with a much tighter dispersion compared to stock shaft.Thank you UST for giving me my teebox confidence back”

“I put the AXIV Core Blue in a 2009 TaylorMade R9 and immediately picked up 10-15 yards vs, the stock TM shaft. Very nice smooth feel; the butt is stiff but the tip has the flex I need to get the ball up”
